Withers and Pfaffly couldn't make it so I went out just me and the dog. We had a blast! Set up in the trees on the south side of the middle pond.... 10 shots, 6 birds, 3 minutes:)
This was a fun hunt and probably the coldest I've ever hunted. It was 9 degrees and the pond was solid ice. We froze our butts off, but probably because we set our layouts on top of the pond:) We left dogs at home which cost us some dead ducks in the middle, other than that it was a great hunt.
Hunted with Luke, David and Brandon and remembered that a lot of the hunt lies in the breakfast afterwards:) Singles peeked in most of the morning, could have shot more if we had stayed longer, but man Oldwest is good!
